We have created a demo package for a multi pass shot, showing 4 single passes out of my latest Ad for Azabo.
Here is the download link:
All shot on Canon R5 with a 50mm Sigma Lens @59,94 fps, no IS enabled.
It is important to disable the camera and lens stabilization when you plan to create a multi pass VFX shot, otherwise your resulting layer will not match up!
Further try to shoot in higher frame rates as needed for your final timeline and/or increase also the shutter speed to avoid motion blur artifacts.
Original clips out of camera, just transcoded to HD and @23,976fps:
As you can see there is jerk visible on every single pass, but due to it’s physical nature it’s the same vibrations in every single pass.
Stabilized clips in PR, just position, scale and rotation 25%
As you can see the jerk is almost gone after this basic stabilization step.
All 4 stabilized layers combined, Layer 1 with 100%, Layer 2-3 with 50% Opacity, color grading and back to normal speed @59,94fps
The resulting combined clip has still a little bit of jerk, but all layers match exactly on top.
Final result – all 4 stabilized layers combined with additional final warp stabilization 50%
An now the final result is super smooth – have fun and keep creating!
